Sustainable fashion encompasses many aspects: From the use of environmentally friendly materials to compliance with social and ecological standards in manufacturing to the renunciation of animal components. It's about treating our planet, people and animals with respect.Nowadays, many clothing companies launch new collections every few weeks, encouraging their customers to buy new and short-lived clothing (fast fashion). It has become normal to constantly buy new clothes, to sort out clothes and throw them away, even though they are still in perfect condition. This not only creates tons of waste, but leads to a cycle of overproduction and is anything but sustainable. Plastic in the oceans, environmental pollution (including the use of pesticides) and inhumane conditions in textile factories are the consequences.
So there are many reasons to rethink and switch to sustainable fashion. Slow Fashion is about conscious consumption and appreciation, among other things, for the workers who produce our clothes.
